Get to Know Kathleen

Beyond the office.

Favorite way to unwind

Sewing and crafts; time with my mother, husband, children, and grandchildren; and family vacations (especially Disney World)! My husband and I will earn our black belts in karate this year as our youngest is also awarded her 5th degree black belt.

Favorite team

E-A-G-L-E-S, often the underdog! Phillies! Flyers! Fan and booster of the University of Scranton Crew Team — and the cheering section for every run, marathon, and Spartan event my children enter.

A habit for staying mentally healthy

"Stay in the moment and be with the person in front of me. Consider the value of time with loved ones. Try not to worry until certain there is something to worry about. And remember that 'Everything is Figureoutable.'"

In Kathleen's words

I am a middle child in a family with six children, where I learned much about communication, negotiation, and other valuable life skills. I met my husband in high school, and learned even more from him as an only child. I have three children of my own, and continue to learn from watching them grow and develop every year. I am also Nana to three wonderful young grandchildren who bring joy to every day!

As the first in my family to go to college, I was drawn to nursing as a profession. I have been fortunate to work with individuals at every age and level of ability, addressing various types of health conditions and disabilities. I have worked with many accomplished professionals who readily shared their knowledge, insight, and support. I strive to help those in my care learn more about their health conditions and treatments in order to promote independence and resilience in taking further steps toward their future.
